​I started my running journey a little over two years ago. I was heavily involved in sports — but not from a running or racing perspective. I loved Crossfit and dance-fitness. Anything to do with running, I quite frankly disliked. I remember my first run — a friend Mona Shahab, took me, along with a few others on a short trail run in Riyadh. I felt like my lungs, heart, and head were going to explode! I kept taking walking breaks, stopping, and thinking to myself why would anyone want to run?
